THE COMPANY:
- The company was formed in 1981, with two
Directors, Bevan Sim, and David Sim.
- The scope of work includes the designing,
documenting, and construction of buildings.
- Our field of expertise is all domestic
work and small commercial work.
- Our area of operation is the South-East
corner of Queensland, Australia for design work, but
building work is mainly restricted to the Gold Coast
region.
- The Company is a registered general and
House Builder, a member of the Queensland Master
Builders’ Association, and a member of Standards
Australia.
- Over the past 18 years we have hundreds of
happy clients, with many ‘repeat’ customers
commissioning us to design and/or construct several of
their homes.
- The majority of our work is ‘word of
mouth’ as we do very little advertising.

RECENT PROJECTS
- On the following pages you will see some
examples of our design and construction policy.
- We believe that all houses should be
designed to suit the site NOT the other way around.
- We have seen many people who have
obviously gone to a display home, liked it, had the
salesman convince the owners that the house can be built
anywhere, had their beautiful sloping site cut and filled
with massive banks. The owners then have moved in only to
find that they then have to spend thousands of dollars
constructing retaining walls and site drainage.
- No two sites are the same and no two
clients are the same.
- Our design philosophy also encompasses
'Sustainable Design Principals'. That is, we take into
account the impact on the environment. We do this not
only with the design of the house both during
construction and throughout its life, but with the
materials, specifying materials with low BES index
wherever possible. (This is the index given to materials
that relate not only to whether it is a renewable and/or
recyclable resource, but also takes into account the
energy used and the damage caused to the environment by
its production. For example it is surprising to learn
that using plantation timber framing has a lesser impact
on the environment than steel framing!)
